Canal Run

January 24th, 2011

With the weather getting warmer it is getting harder to find places to sled with enough snow coverage and not wet with over flow.  DId the canal but went west instead of east.  Trail was in fairly good shape but there was a lot of rocks to avoid and a couple bare spots on the pathway.  Dogs did quite well seems they liked the change of scenery and wanting to get out.  Did 10 km

Didsbury Run

January 16th, 2011

Went out to Didsbury and did another run today.  Did 6miles (10 km) was -21C and a wind so was quite cool.  Dogs did fairly well but did not have quite as much energy as they usually do.  There were a number of other teams out there so it was nice to run with other people.

Little Red Deer River

January 14th, 2011

Went out with a friend on the Little Red.  Did a 10 km run in about 6 – 8 inches of new snow.  It was hard slogging through the snow but the dogs worked well.  Beautiful day about -25C no wind.  Going to take tomorrow off.

Didsbury Run

January 13th, 2011

Did another run this morning doing the 6 miles.  Much slower today I think with the girls in season it is afecting the performance.  Only expect this for another few days then everything should be back to normal.  We did complete the 6 miles just not very quickly today.  Temperature was -25C so another 10km for total.

Didsbury Run

January 12th, 2011

Did a nother run this morning out in Didsbury.  The trail is in great shape was only -21C so warmer than yesterday but dogs still ran well.  Did 6miles (10 km) in about 37 minutes first 4 miles in 22 minutes.  Everyone ran well even with the girls in season.

Didsbury Run

January 11th, 2011

Got out this morning started running just before the sun came up.  It was quite a site sledding and watching the sun come up over the horizon.  Dogs ran fantastically as the temperature was -29C .  Was a perfect temperature for running so we did a full 10km   best time ever did that in about 37 minutes.  Everyone was running well even with 2 girls in season.  Boys behaved themselves and actually pulled.  I am thinking of entering the 6 dog purebred class instead of the 4 as they are all working well together.  This brings my total distance this year to 126km.   HIKE.
